Project Manager – Capital Markets
Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Project Manager – Capital Markets for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Mississauga , ON .
Responsibilities :
- Program and project management skills; adaptable self-starter able to identify and prioritize project tasks and drive next steps while ensuring project goals are met in a timely fashion
- Role is delivering cross-functional projects in Capital Markets and Trading and related support functions
- Trading, market risk, credit risk, XVA, liquidity, collateral exposure helpful
- Team charged with ensuring the timely delivery and cross-functional execution of Capital Markets projects and workstreams while imparting their judgement, experience, and know-how to find solutions and drive the work to completion.
- Must be an experienced project manager with sufficient subject matter expertise to be able to drive meaningful solutions that are functional and sustainable.
- Support the Markets Transformation Initiative lead(s) to drive execution of strategic deliverables
- Lead or participate in working groups, workshops and other ad hoc sessions with senior business stakeholders (Front Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, etc)
- Gather business requirements, draft relevant project documentation (BRDs, process flows etc) with business and technology partners as appropriate
- Impart subject matter expertise by providing guidance, support and constructive challenge on business initiatives to ensure alignment with strategy
- Assist in ensuring that all target state tools, processes and controls are socialized effectively and are approved at or by the appropriate governance forum or level
- Identify synergies between programs/workstreams to minimize delivery time and maximize adoption
- Coordinate with stakeholders at various levels to track deliverable progress, ensure actions are moving forward, and clearly report statuses and next steps
- Strong documentation and organizational skills including meeting minutes, action logs, trackers, logs, etc. to ensure clarity across stakeholders and the maintenance of a project audit trail
Required Skills :
- Bachelor’s/University degree
- 5 years of relevant industry experience with an adaptable skillset to drive change in an organized fashion, preferably with project management expertise too
- Strong program management / project management skills
- Demonstrated capital markets experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, organized approach
- Strong & proven track record in strategic project management and delivering complex solutions are essential
- Strong working knowledge of Capital Markets structures, products, technology, and environments
- Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle across products and asset classes
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders
- Seasoned business analyst or project manager experience in major/complex institutions (Tier 1 banks or Top 4 consulting firms)
- Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability
- Experience working with Front Office / Trading / Sales / Technology teams
- Strong understanding of applicable regulations and compliance requirements
- Slide creation and presentation, spreadsheet, and data analysis skills
Preferred Skills :
- Master’s degree preferred
- Project Management certifications, e.g. PMP or equivalent a plus
- Consulting experience a plus
- Data analytics/SQL a plus
- Advanced and/or STEM degree preferred
