Asset Tracking Analyst
Hours WednesdaySaturday 900 AM 800 PM PURPOSE Monitor all aspects of the Marten alerting system in conjunction with Asset Intelligence AI data to ensure refrigerated reefer units are operating properly and maintaining required temperature ranges This role safeguards product integrity supports on time and claim free deliveries and aligns with both customer expectations and Marten Transports operational standards In addition to real time monitoring this position analyzes performance trends to confirm optimal efficiency of reefer units proactively identifying risks before they impact service or product quality RESPONSIBILITIES 1 Reefer Monitoring & Alert Management Monitor and respond to all reefer alarms and alerts received through the Marten systemAssess alert severity determine root cause and take appropriate action to protect shipment integrityEnsure temperature compliance throughout transit to prevent claims service failures or product lossEscalate and coordinate corrective actions when necessary This requires navigating multiple systems simultaneously including telematics platforms internal alert dashboards customer portals and vendor systems to verify data accuracy and make informed decisions 2 Cross Functional Coordination Work closely with multiple departments to resolve reefer related issues efficiently Road Service Coordinate repairs for malfunctioning reefer units Routes drivers to dealers and Marten terminals Fleet Managers Drivers Customer Service Planners Provide guidance regarding temperature settings proper reefer mode operational best practices and troubleshooting stepsClaims Department Notify of potential temperature related shipment issues and provide AI data documentation to support investigations or resolutions This role requires the ability to seamlessly move between systems interpret data from various sources and synthesize information to ensure accurate decision making 3 Data Analysis & Reporting Run daily weekly and monthly reports related to reefer performance and temperature complianceAnalyze trends to identify recurring issues and operational inefficienciesDifferentiate between data integrity issues eg telematics or sensor reporting errors and actual mechanical unit failuresProactively recommend corrective actions to improve fleet efficiency and reduce risk exposure Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills are essential in evaluating incomplete or conflicting data identifying patterns and determining appropriate next steps 4 Navigation System Support Perform job duties related to Navigation System operations as requiredUtilize mapping routing and tracking tools to support operational visibilityTroubleshoot discrepancies between navigation data and telematics reporting This responsibility requires proficiency in managing multiple technology platforms simultaneously and ensuring accurate data alignment across systems 5 Additional Duties Perform other assigned duties as needed to support operational successRELATIONSHIPS Daily interaction with drivers operations staff and management via telephone electronic and in person communicationCollaborative engagement with cross functional departments to resolve issues quickly and effectivelyABILITIES SKILLS REQUIRED Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsProven problem solving ability in fast paced high pressure environmentsAbility to prioritize competing tasks and manage multiple systems simultaneouslyExperience navigating various software platforms and telematics systemsProficiency in Windows Excel and related data analysis toolsProfessional Communication & Email EtiquetteGiven the high volume of daily email communication with drivers operations personnel and internal departments strong email etiquette is essential This role requires the ability to communicate clearly concisely and professionally while maintaining accuracy and urgency when needed Emails must provide complete and actionable information minimize back and forth correspondence and reflect professionalism consistent with Marten Transports standards Proper tone organization attention to detail accurate and all contacts included and timely responses are critical to ensuring efficient issue resolution maintaining cross functional alignment and supporting positive internal and external relationshipsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods of sittingManual dexterity for data entryStooping bending for filingLight to moderate liftingStrong listening and speaking abilitiesStamina for extended shifts in a fast paced environmentEDUCATION TRAINING REQUIRED Four year degree or equivalent job related experiencePreferred experience within the transportation industry
