Matrix Providers is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse LPNLVN to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at BHC Boone in Virginia Beach VA Employment Status Part TimeCompensation This is an hourly positionSchedule Monday Wednesday and Friday 0700 1700Benefits Competitive financial package with a comprehensive insurance package including health dental vision and life coverageAccrued Paid Time Off PTOPaid Holidays401k PlanThe Licensed Practical Nurse LPNLVN must have and meet the following Degree CertificateEducation Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPNLVN training program OR be a graduate of an accredited LPN program by ACEN OR have completed an equivalent military training programExperience Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as an LPN working in an outpatient acute care hospital based or ambulatory care setting within the last two yearsLicensure Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as an LPNLVN in anyone 1 of the fifty 50 States the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Guam or the US Virgin IslandsJob Summary Ensure patient care is carried out in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and the policies and procedures of the clinicCheck patients into the clinic and triage using clinic guidelines Inform the nurse or physician of the patients condition and potential problemsObtain and document patient and pertinent family historyPerform a full range of diagnostic support duties which include taking vital signs collecting specimens obtaining recording and tracking results of diagnostic toolsAssist the physician in a variety of diagnostic examinations such as lumbar punctures colposcopies and sigmoidoscopies by preparing positioning and monitoring patients and setting out and handling instruments and equipmentPerform laboratory tests such as checking urine for sugar and stool for blood Record and report results of testPerform a range of treatment procedures that include sterile dressing changes applying compresses monitoring IV fluids inserting catheters and suctions inserting nasogastric tubes administering medications giving enemas setting up and giving treatment that requires auxiliary equipment such as oxygen and suction Ambulate patients to other areas to include Radiology various clinics and physical therapyPrepare patients for tests examinations treatments andor surgery Collect specimens such as urine sputum and stool Label specimens for laboratory examinations and follow up by using CHCSAHLTA or calling the laboratory for reports Alert provider to conditions which deviate from expected findingsPrepare start monitor and discontinue intravenous fluids with accuracy and in accordance with established proceduresINDKK
