DATTCO is searching for a School Bus Manager to lead a school bus team in Greenwich Connecticut Established in 1924 DATTCO is a third generation family owned business DATTCO began providing school bus transportation in 1949 and currently services 30 school districts and Regional Education Service Centers throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island transporting 140000 students annually The School Bus Manager is a key management position in the company and is responsible for leading a team of employees to provide safe superior customer service while successfully managing a profitable business What We Offer Competitive compensationMedical & dental insuranceLife insurance401k plan with company matchFlexible spending accountPaid time offRoom for advancement we promote from withinPrimary Responsibilities Plan direct and coordinator the activities of a school bus terminalProcess and maintain payroll recordsUpdate routes using the Trapeze software or other software as requiredHire new employees including interviewing and selection for training programReview driver bids for routes and charters to determine assignments for driving personnelResponsible for monthly billingMonitor and control labor and other expensesCoordinate the checking of dispatch sheets with drivers daily timePrepare budget for the terminalCoordination of drivers buses safety and maintenanceProcess school department parent and student complaints and initiate corrective actionsHandle any conflicts which may arise and provide the necessary progressive disciplinary actionEffectively answer routine phone calls mail and fax inquiresCarry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with DATTCOs policies and procedures and all applicable lawsEnsure all drivers follow all state and federal regulationsQuote and book chartersResponsible for all monies due into the terminal including petty cashMinimum Requirements 3 plus years supervisory experience transportation experience preferredMust be able to create a teamwork environmentExcellent problem solving techniques in a fast paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively with employees management and school department personnelAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent computer skills with Microsoft WindowsSome college courses or relevant industry experienceQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability protected veteran status and any other protected classes
