Role Purpose
As a Trade Applications Officer, you’ll play a key role in onboarding new Members to Capricorn. This position places a strong focus on credit risk assessment, where your analytical skills and sound judgement will directly contribute to the quality and integrity of our Member onboarding process.
Every day brings something different — from reviewing applications, analysing financial information, supporting changes to existing Member accounts, to ensuring every application we process meets Capricorn’s quality, compliance, and risk standards. You’ll work closely with internal teams and our Field network to deliver an exceptional Member experience while maintaining strong credit governance across all new applications, member updates and change in legal entity processing.
Trade Applications
• Process and assess all new trade applications, Member updates, change of legal entity requests and account terminations in line with KYC, Internal Policies and Service Level Agreements.
• Use internal decision‑flow tools to review credit reports and support the approval process.
• Perform searches on relevant regulatory and government platforms, including property reporting for prospective Members.
• Review financial statements, assess external insurance information, and prepare detailed business cases that include recommendations for approval.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with Area Managers, Credit, Assurance and Compliance Teams to ensure all applications are accurate, consistent, and compliant.
• Support the wider team with administrative and clerical tasks as required.
Knowledge, and Attributes
• Strong stakeholder management skills — you’re confident building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of internal and external contacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication — clear, concise, and professional.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality, accurate work in a service focused role.
• A curious mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to balance accuracy with efficiency.
• Experience in a credit risk, lending or financial services role desirable.
