Addus Home Care strives to help older adults and people with disabilities to live safe and healthy lives at home In this job you will assists families in crisis through DCFS programs including Family Habilitation Services Visitation and Housing Family Service Specialists provide services that help families comply with court ordered program participation and work through difficult situations Training is provided through the office and on the job Family Service Specialist Benefits Pay is 17HRDAILY PAY available for select positionsFlexible schedule full time and part time availableDirect depositReimbursement for mileage 70mileFSS Duties Work with families in crisis through DCFS and various State contractsPrepare written reports and maintain accurate records and court testimonyPrepare and sign client progress reports on a monthly basisScheduled dates and units of serviceSpecific goalsissues to be addressed for each date of serviceDocumentation as to whether each appointment was successful or missedReports of progress for each identified goalRecommendations for future serviceReport all child abuse and neglectImmediately report any significant events changes in family circumstances or unusual incidents involving the client or family members to their supervisorAttend all mandated trainingWork directly with families in the home teaching and demonstrating homemaking skills parenting skills anger management utilizing effective resourcesSupervised visitation Unsupervised visitation Provide transportation for parent andor children to and from locations for supervised visitation Observe all interaction of visitation parent and child behaviors and redirect according to parenting needs and parent child behaviorsHelp families locate housing throughout the local areas Housing could include public government housing private rent or shelter careAssist clients with finding jobs and community resourcesThe goal of services for intact families is to support the family and prevent the placement of the children out of the homeFSS Requirements & Competencies Must be at least 21 years of ageAn associates degree from an accredited institution is required or two years of work experience in social work related to child welfare is requiredMust have a dependable automobile a valid drivers license and proof of auto insuranceMust pass the CANTS background check and other required background checks
