Peer Support Specialist Anchor Recovery – Jim Gillen Teen Center $2000 retention bonus
This position is eligible for 2000 retention bonus Job Summary The Providence Center Peer Support Specialist Anchor Recovery Jim Gillen Teen Center works with young people who struggle with addiction by providing individual and group recovery coaching and facilitating activities and events This staff member is responsible to help maintain a positive community environment in which youth and family members are able to develop recovery capital and learn about the recovery process The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide skills training and will assist with resource development Schedule Tuesday Friday 12pm 8pm AND Saturday 10am 6pm Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual recovery support Facilitate recovery support groups with youth and family members Facilitate skills development through educational training sessions Provide information and referrals for community based resources Help lead activities and events in house and in community settings Ensures safety for all participants by following policies and procedures Serve as advocate for program participants and assist them to develop self advocacy skills Complete all required documentation clearly and on time Communicate effectively and respectfully with all program participants and coworkers; and with school personnel and community partners Maintain positive relationships Complete all trainings as assigned Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary Requirements High School diploma or GED required RI State certified Recovery Coach or plan to complete this within first year Understanding of community resources and recovery oriented systems of care model MUST have a valid drivers license registration and proper auto insurance Knowledge of basic crisis intervention motivational interviewing and solid communication skills required Ability to advocate for the needs of participants is required Minimum of 2 years established recovery time Positive communication skills Must be 21 years old or older Experience working with youth and families Care New England Health System CNE and its member institutions; Butler Hospital Women & Infants Hospital Kent Hospital VNA of Care New England Integra The Providence Center and Care New England Medical Group and our Wellness Center are trusted organizations fueling the latest advances in medical research attracting top specialty trained doctors and honing renowned services and innovative programs to engage in the important discussions people need to have about their health Americans with Disability Act Statement External and internal applicants as well as position incumbents who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job specific functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by the organization on a case by case basis EEOC Statement Care New England is an equal opportunity employer All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race color religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin veteran or disability status Ethics Statement Employee conducts himselfherself consistent with the ethical standards of the organization including but not limited to hospital policy mission vision and values
