Housekeeping Services Lead

1 Position Summary and Job Magnitude The Housekeeping Services Lead is responsible for leading the team of Housekeeping Service Representatives ensuring that the housekeeping department runs smoothly and completing all assigned tasks efficiently with a high degree of attention to detail and customer service This position is also responsible for training new and existing housekeeping staff and developing them to their highest potential 2 Essential Functions and Basic Duties Keeping inventory of lost and found itemsBe aware of check inouts and ensure all needs are metAttending to special requestsEnsuring all daily cleaning responsibilities are coveredEnsuring housekeeping carts are properly prepared for the start of each dayEnsuring all housekeepers are properly trained to perform their duties and responsibilitiesEnsuring any identified cleaning standards have been metAssisting with daily building cleaning responsibilities as required This may include studentguest rooms or common areasIdentifying and implementing process improvement and quality assurance initiativesCommunicating with the Front Office regularly to update room status and other related informationAssisting with annual performance reviewsOrganize housekeeping cart prior to leaving at the end of the dayOther duties as assigned Health & Safety Require employees work in the manner and with the protective devices measures and procedures required by the OHSA regulations and Campus Living Centres eg wearing safety shoes confining hair jewelry or loose clothing around moving parts etcEnsure the Personal Protective Equipment required for all subordinates job is readily available in good working condition and ensure usage is recordedEnsure all trainings required for each task are identified documented and readily availableEnsure all WHMIS 2015 regulated supplies and SDS sheets are readily availableEnsure hazard identification labelling and any additional chemical safety resources and documents are up to date and available for all workers 3 Qualifications EducationHigh School Diploma or greater SkillsAbilities Must possess ability to perform physical tasksMust possess superior positive attitude and customer service skills Must possess the ability to lead a teamMust be able to work without supervision Experience Required Minimum 1 year experience in similar role
