Safety Manager – Portland, OR
Cook Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and elevate our companywide safety efforts This role is responsible for designing implementing and driving a comprehensive safety program that protects our people reduces risk and ensures full regulatory compliance As a trusted partner to operational leadership the Safety Manager champions a proactive accountable safety culture while leveraging data technology and continuous improvement to strengthen both workplace and fleet safety performance The Safety Manager is responsible for developing implementing and driving a comprehensive safety program that protects employees reduces risk and ensures full compliance with all applicable regulations This role leads the organizations Safety Committee owns all companywide safety initiatives and partners closely with operational leadership to foster a culture of accountability continuous improvement and proactive hazard prevention In addition the Safety Manager supports the companys fleet operations by leveraging GPS and telematics software to enhance driver safety optimize routing reduce operational costs and improve overall fleet performance Location Portland OR Pay 85K 100K a year DOE Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership & Program Ownership Own develop and continuously improve the companys safety strategy policies and proceduresLead the Safety Committeesetting agendas driving action items tracking progress and reporting outcomesConduct regular safety audits inspections and assessments across all branches and operational environmentsOversee incident investigations root cause analysis and corrective action plansMaintain compliance with OSHA DOT state and local regulatory requirementsDevelop track and present company safety metrics trends and performance indicatorsDrive safety related communication across the company ensuring visibility and accountabilityWork with Training team to develop and deliver safety training programs toolbox talks and new hire orientation contentTravel to other centers as needed to support safety initiativesWorkers Compensation Administration Oversee and manage all workers compensation claims from incident reporting to resolutionServe as the liaison between employees adjusters medical providers and legal counselMonitor and manage return to work and modified duty programsEnsure timely and accurate OSHA recordkeeping and reporting eg OSHA 300 logsCollaborate with HR on accommodation and FMLAADA related matters when applicableSafety Culture & Continuous Improvement Champion a proactive people first safety culture with emphasis on prevention and accountabilityEvaluate trends near misses and audit findings to identify opportunities for improvementPartner with leadership teams to develop branch specific and companywide safety targetsRecommend and implement safety technologies equipment and operational best practicesFleet Safety & GPSTelematics Management Support Fleet Management use of Telematics to drive fleet safety and efficienciesAssist in management of driver scorecards and provide performance feedback to managersCollaborate with FleetOperations leadership on vehicle assignments compliance and safety related policiesSupport incident analysis using telematics data and coordinate with insurance and risk management teamsQualifications Bachelors degree in occupational safety Risk Management Business or related field or equivalent experience35 years of experience in safety management preferably in field service construction logistics or technical servicesExperience with GPStelematics platforms eg Geotab Samsara Verizon Connect etcStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standardsDemonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and drive organizational initiativesStrong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to interpret data and develop actionable insightsExcellent communication presentation and training skillsCertifications preferred OSHA 30 CSP CHST or equivalentSuccess Attributes Highly organized and proactiveStrong leadership presence and ability to influence at all levelsData driven approach to decision makingPassion for employee well being and operational excellenceComfortable owning initiatives from concept through executionBenefits Cook Solutions Group CSG provides our employees with the most comprehensive benefits program to enhance their quality of life CSG employees enjoy competitive salaries;
