Role Description

We’re hiring a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper to support our wholesale apparel accounting in New York, NY. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end close, and helping ensure clean reporting for leadership and external accountants. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands wholesale workflows—including factoring.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks (AP/AR, expenses, deposits, credit cards, bank activity)

Record transactions and post journal entries with strong attention to detail

Perform weekly and monthly bank/credit card reconciliations

Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)

Manage wholesale accounting workflows (customer invoicing, collections support, vendor bills, returns/allowances as needed)

Work with factoring platforms: reconcile factor statements, track fees/advances/holdbacks, apply cash receipts, and resolve discrepancies

Track chargebacks, deductions, and related documentation when applicable

Maintain organized records for CPA review, audits, and internal reporting

Collaborate with operations/sales teams to ensure accurate billing and clean data

Qualifications (Required)

QuickBooks experience (Online or Desktop)

Experience working with factoring (required) — understanding advances, reserves/holdbacks, fees, and reconciliations

Strong skills in bookkeeping, journal entries, and financial statements

High accuracy, strong organization, and excellent follow-through

Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)

Ability to work full-time, on-site, in a collaborative team environment

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience in wholesale apparel, retail, or inventory-based businesses
