We are searching for an experienced Hospital Medical Records Clerk to work in our busy Health Information Management Department.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain records: Organize and file both physical and electronic patient records, including creating digital images of paperwork.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness: Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance; verify patient demographic and personal information.
- Manage information systems: Work with electronic health record (EHR) systems, transfer data into databases, and manage digital files.
- Process requests: Handle requests for patient records and process admission and discharge documents.
- Adhere to regulations: Ensure all activities comply with healthcare laws, particularly HIPAA, and maintain strict patient confidentiality.

Qualifications The following requirements are needed to be successful in this position:
- Previous Medical Records experience in a hospital setting.
- Ability to communicate with staff and the public in person, in writing and over the telephone, in a tactful manner
- Be detail oriented
- Demonstrate the ability to efficiently organize work and maintain a high level of accuracy and HIPAA guidelines
