job summary:

We are seeking a senior IT Project Manager III to support a large-scale data and analytics modernization initiative for a Texas state government client. This role leads planning and delivery of complex IT projects, partnering closely with data, analytics, and engineering teams to migrate legacy reporting platforms to modern solutions. The position is contract-based, requires strong Agile and SDLC experience, and is 100% onsite in Austin, TX for local candidates only.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead IT project management for data and analytics modernization initiatives
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, and budgets
  • Coordinate with IT, data, analytics, vendors, and business stakeholders
  • Lead Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Track risks, issues, and dependencies and report status to leadership
  • Produce required project documentation and ensure compliance with state standards
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution and cross-functional teams

qualifications:

Qualifications

8+ years of IT project management experience

Active PMP certification

Strong experience across the full project management lifecycle and SDLC

Hands-on Agile delivery experience (Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, retrospectives)

Experience leading data, analytics, or data management-related initiatives

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to lead cross-functional and matrixed teams

Must be local to Austin, TX and able to work 100% onsite

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
