About the Role

The General Manager will lead a strategically important business unit focused on specialty assembly manufacturing and product distribution. This role carries full P&L ownership and responsibility for driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and long-term growth. Reporting into senior corporate leadership, the General Manager will oversee all core functions—including operations, sales and marketing, sourcing, and engineering—while fostering a high-performance culture centered on accountability, safety, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a results-driven operator who thrives in fast-paced, precision-driven environments.

Responsibilities

P&L & Financial Leadership

  • Own full profit and loss responsibility for the business unit
  • Drive sustained profitability through cost control, margin optimization, and cash flow management
  • Establish and track financial performance metrics tied to growth and operational efficiency

Operations & Manufacturing Oversight

  • Direct all manufacturing and assembly operations, including workforce planning and equipment utilization
  • Optimize throughput, quality, and delivery through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational best practices

Commercial & Revenue Leadership

  • Lead and align sales, marketing, and sourcing functions to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Strengthen customer relationships and ensure world-class service delivery
  • Partner with commercial teams to identify new market opportunities and expand customer penetration

Strategic Growth & Planning

  • Develop and execute growth strategies across industrial, aerospace, and life sciences–adjacent markets
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning, annual operating plans, and S&OP processes
  • Evaluate new products, services, and market opportunities

People & Culture Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing leadership and frontline team
  • Drive recruitment, development, and retention of top talent
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement

Cross-Functional & Corporate Collaboration

  • Partner closely with corporate leadership and peer business units to ensure alignment
  • Share best practices and leverage enterprise resources to drive performance
  • Support company-wide initiatives and integration efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience across Operations, Sales, Engineering, or Marketing
  • 5 years in a General Management or full P&L leadership role
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial distribution, aerospace, or other precision-driven environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead in fast-paced, detail-oriented, high-accountability settings
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent financial acumen, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Ability to travel to branch or operating locations as required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing and office environment with moderate noise levels
  • Requires a mix of sitting, standing, walking, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds; occasional heavier handling with assistance
  • Manual dexterity and close visual focus required

Pay range and compensation package

Competitive base salary $200K bonus
