Patient Service Rep
Requirements
Must have:
– High School Diploma or GED (required) – Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field (preferred) – Familiarity with medical billing procedures (required) – Experience with medical office software (required) – Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding (preferred) – Previous experience in a medical office setting (preferred) – Problem-solving aptitude and basic computer proficiency – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients – Basic arithmetic skills
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients and the community – Receive and process patient referrals and registrations – Verify patient demographics, ensuring accuracy of information – Obtain insurance cards and identification for records – Schedule appointments and transcribe orders as necessary – Provide clear explanations of financial options to patients – Maintain updated medical records efficiently – Make sure patient flow is uninterrupted and report issues to the Supervisor promptly – Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs to facilitate patient assignments – Perform other duties as required
