Patient service representative
Requirements
Must have:
– High school diploma or equivalent required – Previous experience in healthcare administration or a related field preferred – Strong attention to detail and organizational skills – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – Proficient in electronic health record systems and basic computer applications – Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities – Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain accurate electronic health records for patients – Prevent the creation of duplicate records that could jeopardize patient safety and billing – Adhere to organizational standards and procedures for patient identification prior to care delivery – Check in patients and manage their registration processes – Gather and confirm thorough demographic, guarantor, and insurance details – Discuss and collect co-pays and other patient financial responsibilities – Ensure accuracy of information during the registration process to support timely care delivery
