Senior Engineer, Trailer Tow Systems

Requirements

Must have:

– Proven experience in engineering, particularly in automotive design and development – Proficiency in hardware and software systems relevant to trailer control modules – Familiarity with vehicle CAN networks and various trailer setups – Strong understanding of automotive industry regulations (e.g., ECE R48, FMVSS, SAE) – Experience developing test plans and performing testing for functionality and safety – Problem-solving skills related to trailer detection, braking, and lighting systems – Excellent documentation skills to create and maintain design specifications and technical standards – Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers – Familiarity with quality assurance processes and warranty analysis

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of innovative solutions for trailer control modules, managing braking and lighting functionalities – Ensure seamless integration with vehicle CAN networks and compatibility with diverse trailer configurations – Validate compliance with industry regulations and internal requirements – Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive test plans to assess reliability and safety of the module – Identify and resolve issues associated with trailer performance including detection and lighting – Conduct on-vehicle calibration and testing of the Trailer Tow Module for optimized integration – Create, update, and manage thorough documentation to support technical processes and audits – Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to facilitate production readiness – Support in warranty analyses and investigations related to trailer control systems
