Senior QA Automation Engineer | Downtown LA | Hybrid
A global professional services firm is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead the transition from manual to automated testing across their technology teams. This is a newly created position — the firm’s first dedicated automation engineer — offering the opportunity to shape frameworks, champion best practice and mentor existing QA staff.
The Role
- Design, build and maintain scalable automation frameworks tailored to complex applications.
- Drive the shift from manual testing to automated practices, training and mentoring QA colleagues along the way.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams to deliver high-quality, reliable systems.
- Influence technical direction by selecting tools and approaches that ensure scalability and long-term adaptability.
What You’ll Bring
- 4–5 years’ experience in test automation.
- Strong coding expertise in Python (essential).
- Exposure to Playwright (highly desirable) alongside tools such as Azure DevOps and TestRail.
- Proven ability to work independently, take ownership, and act as an internal advocate for automation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor manual testers.
