Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | $90/hr | Remote

Position: Operational EH&S — Safety Specialist

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $47–$90/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated outputs using operational safety and risk criteria.
• Apply safety guidelines and harm taxonomies consistently across evaluation tasks.
• Document reasoning clearly to support safety guideline refinement.
• Identify potential safety risks that automated systems may miss.
• Collaborate asynchronously to support AI safety research and evaluation workflows.

Requirements

• Background in environmental health & safety, lab safety, biosafety, or occupational safety.
• Experience with safety compliance, hazard management, or incident investigation.
• Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to translate operational safety practices into structured evaluation criteria.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, project-based environment.
