This cemetery consists of thirty (30) acres of land with a minimum of 12,122 grave sites, which will primarily serve deceased veterans and qualified dependents. This position directly supervises the Horticultural Attendant Superintendent and an Administrative Coordinator 4 position.Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in administrative services; ORSix years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; ORA bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; ORAn advanced degree plus two years of experience in administrative services.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found .Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
As an Administrative Program Manager 3, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. In this role you will:
- Provide direct supervision to Administrative Coordinator and Horticultural Attendant Superintendent.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of burial services, from arranging grave openings and closings to coordinating re-interments, dis-interments, and the placement of headstones and markers.
- Coordinate with funeral directors, veterans’ organizations, and military installations to ensure military honor services are conducted properly.
- Manage and direct the Horticultural Attendant Superintendent in the upkeep of grounds, roads, and buildings, which includes aligning headstones, making repairs, and surveying the facilities for deficiencies.
- Oversee all administrative office procedures performed by the Administrative Coordinator 4, such as coordinating funeral arrangements, managing interments, and handling documentation for eligibility and plot allowance applications.
- Complete the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) for employees that you directly supervise and make the appropriate ratings, comments, and recommendations as needed
