Network Engineer
System One is seeking two motivated, detail-oriented Contract Network Engineers to support a multi-state, multi-site networking infrastructure environment. This role supports commercial, industrial, research, and energy-related network systems. The ideal candidate thrives in time-sensitive environments, balances urgency with precision, and collaborates effectively within cross-functional technical teams.
This position is 100% onsite in Bellevue, WA .
Responsibilities

Design and implement new network solutions and improve existing network efficiency across:

Business office environments

Research laboratories
-
Industrial systems
-
Energy plant site deployments
-
Install, configure, maintain, and support network equipment; coordinate third-party vendors as needed

Support commercial and industrial network systems for new construction projects in Wyoming and office/lab locations in Washington state and Maryland

Translate business and operational requirements into enterprise and industrial network solutions, including industrial control systems

Apply best practices in:

Network architecture

Cybersecurity

Change management

Support availability of IP transport functions, including:

Edge firewalls
-
SD-WAN
-
LAN/WAN routing and switching
-
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize wired and wireless network performance

Investigate network faults, coordinate repairs, and update equipment

Produce and maintain network documentation and diagrams
-
Report network status and issues to key stakeholders

Stay current on industry standards, networking technologies, and equipment
-
Collaborate with IT systems engineers and management to ensure enterprise infrastructure availability

Manage hardware, service provider contracts, licensing, and support agreements
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer

3+ years of experience supporting Industrial Control System (ICS) networking infrastructure and protocols (DCS/SCADA)

Strong knowledge of enterprise networking hardware and infrastructure

Hands-on experience with:

Aruba CX
-
Palo Alto firewalls
-
National Instruments cRIO or equivalent technologies

Demonstrated expertise with Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking technologies and protocols

Knowledge of application-level protocols including:

SNMP, SSH, HTTPS

DHCP, DNS
-
802.1x, IPSec
-
Networking certifications such as ACSP, CCNP, or equivalent knowledge required

Ability to build strong rapport with business partners and stakeholders

Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized
