Remote Option: Yes (contract only; conversion requires hybrid)

Duration: 1-year with strong potential for extension and conversion

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Project Manager to lead modernization and migration initiatives across several enterprise technology platforms. This role manages the full project lifecycle-from planning and requirements through execution and delivery-while partnering closely with business owners, engineering teams, and leadership. You will help drive major technology transitions, improve systems scalability, and support the firm’s long-term digital strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle delivery for multiple technical projects, from definition through implementation.
• Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing new and existing information technologies.
• Lead technological research to align solutions with organizational goals and strategies.
• Coordinate project resources, schedules, milestones, and cross-functional team activities.
• Verify system performance through audits, testing, and post-implementation reviews.
• Implement and support disaster recovery, backup procedures, and security controls.
• Recommend IT strategies, policies, and process improvements based on trend analysis and organizational needs.
• Manage project financials including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Enforce quality standards and ensure consistent project execution.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Contribute to overall team success through collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Project Management Duties

Project Execution & Governance

• Lead daily stand-ups and facilitate Agile or Waterfall ceremonies as needed.
• Maintain project plans, timelines, RAID logs, and governance documentation.
• Prepare and deliver monthly status reports covering progress, risks, issues, and decisions.
• Conduct one-on-one check-ins to ensure alignment, remove blockers, and validate progress.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with business owners to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and desired outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage expectations, negotiate priorities, and escalate risks appropriately.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

• Identify potential delays early and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage change requests, approvals, and documentation.
• Track cross-team dependencies to ensure coordinated delivery.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, IT, or related field
• 6-8 years of experience in IT Project Management
• Experience delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Highly organized with strong prioritization and documentation abilities
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
• Ability to support core Central Time business hours

Preferred

• PMP Certification (PMI)
• PMI-ACP, CSM, DASM/DASSM, or Six Sigma certification
• Cybersecurity knowledge and familiarity with technology risk controls

Work Environment

You will collaborate closely with:

• Business owners overseeing the application migrations
• Software engineers & platform architects
• QA/testing teams
• Agile facilitators (where applicable)
• Vendor or offshore delivery teams

Projects use a mix of Waterfall and Agile , depending on maturity and scope.
