Description
Our client is seeking a mid-to-senior level DevOps Engineer to support a key modernization initiative involving the migration of API endpoints from MuleSoft to Azure. This role will focus on API setup, performance, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines within an established Azure environment.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM) and modern DevOps practices, while also contributing to standardization efforts across a partially distributed DevOps operating model.

  1. API Migration & Platform Support
    Lead and support the migration of APIs from MuleSoft to Azure
    Design, configure, and operate APIs using Azure API Management (APIM)
    Ensure API availability, performance, scalability, and observability
    Define best practices for API versioning, security, and lifecycle management
  2. CI/CD & DevOps Engineering
    Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or Bitbucket
    Implement standardized build, release, and deployment workflows
    Improve delivery continuity through documentation and reusable templates
    Support multi-environment deployments (dev, test, prod)
  3. Infrastructure as Code & Azure Operations
    Provision and manage Azure infrastructure using Bicep
    Contribute to a mature, enterprise-grade Azure environment
    Partner with infrastructure and application teams to reduce silos
    Support long-term initiatives to bring MSP-managed services in-house
  4. Collaboration & Process Improvement
    Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams
    Promote standardization of DevOps practices and tooling
    Document processes to support team coverage during PTO and transitions
    Act as a reliable technical contributor in a growing DevOps function
    Required Skills & Experience
    Required
    Strong Azure experience in production environments
    Hands-on Azure API Management (APIM) experience
    CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and/or Bitbucket
    Infrastructure as Code experience using Bicep
    Experience supporting enterprise-scale APIs and integrations
    Nice to Have
    MuleSoft experience (especially migration use cases)
    Experience working in hybrid or matrixed DevOps teams
    Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools
    Soft Skills & Team Fit
    Strong communication and collaboration skills
    Self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight
    Able to navigate ambiguity and improve process gaps

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Fort Mill, SC.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 – $80.00/hr.
