Overview
The successful candidate will have the responsibility to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance and associated safety protocols. As a part of our team, you will ensure the smooth operation of all electrical systems, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.
Functions and responsibilities
- Install and perform preventive maintenance/repairs on electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, HVAC electrical components, and power distribution panels up to 480 Volt AC and 1550 Volt DC.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in systems including lighting, climate control, and security, identifying faults and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify issues like wear, corrosion, or malfunction, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Install and replace electrical components, including wiring, circuit breakers, and panels, following blueprints, schematics, and applicable codes.
- Utilize test equipment to diagnose issues and verify system performance, ensuring reliability and compliance with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of automation and control systems, such as energy management systems, fire alarms, communication systems and security equipment.
- Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules to improve performance and reduce downtime.
- Respond quickly to emergency electrical issues, providing efficient solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
- Recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance safety, energy efficiency, and overall system effectiveness.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Training/eduction required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification or vocational training in electrical maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of related experience as an electrical maintenance technician, electrician, or similar role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, etc.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document work performed accurately.
Safety requirements
- Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
- Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
