Job Summary Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration in the Finance division, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the Institution by performing data-driven analysis and generating comprehensive financial and other reports, which support effective resource allocation.
This role supports senior leadership by providing key insights into financial performance, managing institutional funds efficiently, and ensuring timely and accurate compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Statement Preparation & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports. Conduct variance analysis and trend reviews to assess the institution’s fiscal status.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Proactively monitor departmental expenditures to identify emerging cost trends or performance risks that could negatively impact annual financial performance. Utilize these insights to inform the development of accurate multi-year financial projections.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support long-term capital planning, debt management, and investment strategies (e.g., endowments).
- Strategic Reporting: Develop dashboards and visual presentations using tools like Tableau to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Audit Support: Assist with year-end audits by preparing schedules and collaborating with external auditors.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 6-8 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting; experience in a higher education or non-profit environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, modeling); experience with ERP systems (Colleague), SAP Business Objects, and BI data visualization tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex financial data to diverse audiences.
