About the role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll design, develop, test, and operate scalable software systems that power critical business capabilities. You will work on complex technical challenges, contribute to high-quality production systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient solutions at scale.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, secure, and well-tested production code, with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Build and maintain distributed systems and streaming applications using Kafka and related technologies.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design for complex applications, ensuring solutions meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
• Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, uncover hidden issues, and drive improvements in system performance and stability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to improve operational resilience.
• Continuously improve coding standards, system design, and development processes through data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with peers in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture forums.
• Engage with engineering communities to explore and adopt new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful team environment.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or systems engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale applications.
• Experience working with distributed systems and streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with agile development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, application resiliency, and secure coding practices.
• Ability to work in a large, complex codebase within a corporate or enterprise environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
• Exposure to system design for high-availability and fault-tolerant applications.
• Knowledge of modern software domains such as cloud computing, data platforms, machine learning, or large-scale backend systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think beyond standard approaches.
