Overview:
This role supports the Data Analytics team during an IT migration project by validating and testing data migrated from existing production dataflows into newly developed Databricks sources. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with technical teams.
Responsibilities:
Validate and test data migrated from legacy production dataflows to Databricks-based sources.
Analyze and confirm the accuracy of migrated data points and underlying business logic.
Test report functionality to ensure outputs align with defined business rules.
Identify, document, and communicate data inconsistencies, defects, and root causes.
Collaborate closely with IT and data engineering teams to resolve issues and track ticket progress.
Provide regular written and verbal updates on validation progress, findings, and risks.
Work independently to manage workload and timelines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
Experience with data validation, QA, or analytical testing in a data engineering or reporting environment.
Strong SQL and Excel skills, including the ability to compare datasets and troubleshoot discrepancies.
Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with data warehouses, ETL or dataflow testing; Databricks experience preferred.
