Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, for an Assistant General Manager. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and supporting the management team in achieving store objectives. Key duties include supervising staff, coordinating schedules, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient workplace. In this leadership position, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and productive team environment while upholding Citarella’s high-quality standards. Reports and performance metrics are also maintained and analyzed to ensure targets are met.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and team management experience, including supervising employees and fostering team collaboration
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service expertise, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in retail, foodservice, or hospitality industry preferred
  • Adept at inventory control, scheduling, and operational efficiency improvements
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field is a plus
  • Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional service
