Parts Counter Specialist
Position Summary:
Sells parts to customers at the counter, over the telephone, or through the repair shops.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists customers in determining and selecting appropriate parts. Provides price quotes and other parts information.

Informs customers of specials and companion part requirements, ensuring that the customer is exposed to the full product line.

Assists technicians with the parts requisition process, ensuring that the Parts department receives a completed copy of the parts request or repair order. Ensures that all internal parts requests are billed on repair order.

Represents Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, remaining friendly and courteous in all customer and coworker interactions.

Pulls and fills parts orders from stock. Prepares orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up.

Inspects cores received from customers. Tags for return to vendor. Issues customer credit upon receipt of credit from vendor.

Notifies manager of out-of-stock parts or other department materials that require immediate attention. Locates out-of-stock parts from external sources and submits emergency orders, as necessary.

Notifies customers and service advisors of receipt of special-order parts. Informs Collision Center of parts order arrival and delivery date.

Verifies will-call and back orders weekly and returns to vendors. Follows up on back orders.

Provides customers with their copy of invoices. Receives payment for retail purchases. Obtains credit authorizations or required signatures for charge sales.

Issues credits for returned parts after verifying purchase and pricing by reviewing original invoice.

Participates in annual physical inventory and weekly perpetuals.

Assists manager with maintaining lost sales tracking program.

Keeps front counter and parts areas clean and free of clutter. Performs weekly office cleaning in cooperation with the rest of the office staff.

Stays informed of new products and product updates.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Six to twelve months parts experience or training, heavy duty truck experience preferred

Effective oral and written communication skills.
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Valid Wisconsin Drivers License.
