POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing the manufacturing processes and machinery. This position also oversees the daily operations of a plant, including production, maintenance, and quality control. They are responsible for ensuring the plant is running efficiently and safely, and that production goals are met. The Plant / Process Improvement Manager in this capacity creates systems that make the best use of workers, machines, materials, information, and energy. This includes the review of production schedules, design specifications,

workflows, and other information to understand and adjust the company’s processes to make us more efficient. This position shoulders up with all Production / Production Ops departments to streamline our production and operational processes.

BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Production: Reviews production schedules to determine facility capabilities, and financial goals

• Quality: Manage Quality standards and ensure products meet quality specifications

• Cost Management: Keep operational expenses within budget and investigate ways to reduce costs

• Safety: Leads the safety efforts and approach for the company to Ensure the plant is safe for employees, and create safety procedures

• Maintenance: Partner with Operations and Maintenance to ensure the physical upkeep of the plant

• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation protocols to ensure the best interest of both operations and the facility

• Compliance: Ensure the plant complies with all applicable laws and regulations

• Learning: Stay up to date on new technology and methods to improve efficiency

ROLE SPECIFICATIONS:

• Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement

• Meet with Production Managers to assess existing processes

• Create process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates and efficiencies

• Design and test process upgrades and new systems

• Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standards

• Heads Safety Committee and Protocols

• Perform process simulations and troubleshoot issues

• Develop routines and best practices to ensure process efficiencies

• Develop standardized operating instructions for processes

• Works with management team in designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing the manufacturing processes and machinery in the plant.

• Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.

• Performs risk assessments.

• Designs and tests process upgrades and new process systems.

• Ensures processes comply with safety and quality standards.

• Performs optimization tests.

• Develops routines and best practices to ensure product quality.

• Develops standardized operating instructions for the upgrades process.

• Providing the Production Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures.

• Monitors upgrades / systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, crouching, crawling and climbing for long periods of time.

• Seeing, hearing, speaking.

• Lift and/or move items over 50 lbs. On a occasional basis.

• Must not have any food allergies such as eggs or nuts.

• Must be able to work in a cool (under 70 degrees) and damp environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• May work in environments with varying temperatures.

• May work nights and weekends

• Ability to support all three shifts.

• Ability to work overtime hours, and weekends as required.
