Senior Mobile Application Developer

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Start Date: February 9, 2026

Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Application Developer to design, build, and support mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms. This role will focus on delivering a Proof of Concept (POC) implementation of a TAK Server and integrating it with our CAD system to provide real-time incident, unit status, and geolocation data within ATAK (Android) and TAKAware (iOS) . The position requires strong expertise in secure mobile development and identity management using Okta .

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain a TAK Server within the network environment.
  • Integrate TAK Server with ATAK (Android) and TAKAware (iOS) mobile applications.
  • Connect the TAK Server with CAD systems to support real-time data streaming of incidents, unit statuses, and location information.
  • Ensure mobile architecture and data flows meet CJIS and organizational security requirements.
  • Implement Okta-based authentication for all mobile clients.
  • Diagnose, optimize, and improve the performance and reliability of mobile apps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.

Required Qualifications

Mobile Development:

  • iOS: Swift, Objective-C, Xcode
  • Android: Kotlin, Java, Android Studio

Core Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with TAK Server, ATAK, and TAKAware
  • Mobile integration using REST APIs and JSON
  • Understanding of mobile security best practices and compliance standards
  • Okta authentication implementation (OAuth2, OpenID Connect)
  • Git-based source control
  • Experience with mobile testing frameworks such as Appium or Espresso

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter, Xamarin)
  • Strong mobile UI/UX sensibilities
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase, Crashlytics)
  • Prior experience integrating mobile applications with CAD systems

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Senior-level mobile developer with a background in mission-critical , real-time , or GIS/mapping-based applications
  • Skilled in secure authentication workflows, location-based services, and performance optimization
  • Able to deliver a functional POC within a condensed 3-month timeframe
