System Administrator

Description: Our client is currently seeking a System Administrator
Windows Systems Administrator – Application owner coordination, patching, upgrade support
Onsite in College Station
Role Purpose
Serve as the primary liaison between the infrastructure team and application owners throughout the migration project. This role coordinates application compatibility testing, manages patching workflows, backups, documents application dependencies, and ensures application owners are engaged and prepared for each phase of the migration. This role will also manage and work the local ServiceNow infrastructure ticket queue.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct RPO/RTO interviews with application owners to gather backup requirements
Document application dependencies, integrations, and technical requirements
Coordinate Windows Server upgrade compatibility testing with application owners
Manage WSUS patching coordination including app owner approval workflows
Schedule and track application testing windows during pilot and production migrations
Maintain application owner contact list and escalation procedures
Coordinate with app owners for pre-migration and post-migration testing sign-offs
Document application-specific migration requirements and known issues
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination for migrated systems
Track and report application readiness status for each migration wave
Identify and escalate application compatibility issues to technical team
Assist with change advisory board (CAB) documentation for application impacts
Maintain application inventory with owner, criticality, and GxP classification
Support knowledge transfer to operations team on application support procedures
Required Skills & Experience
3 years of experience in desktop/application support or systems analysis
Strong communication skills for working with diverse application owners
Experience coordinating software upgrades and compatibility testing
Familiarity with WSUS or similar patch management systems
Understanding of Windows Server environments and applications
Experience documenting application dependencies and configurations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ticketing systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with GxP application requirements
ITIL Foundation certification or understanding of change management
Experience with CMDB and asset management systems
Knowledge of virtualization concepts (VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with UAT coordination and testing documentation
