Requirements


Must have:

– Bachelors degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering discipline – Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, developing, analyzing, implementing, testing, and/or operating spacecraft power systems – Proficiency in modeling and simulating power system loads against input power – Familiarity with solar arrays and Li-ion batteries, including their design, construction, and testing – Understanding of power control and distribution electronics and architectures – Experience collaborating with engineers across various disciplines on complex system designs and tests – Ability to write and review technical documentation including test procedures, design diagrams, and requirement specifications – Hands-on experience testing electronics with tools like DMMs, oscilloscopes, PSUs, E-Loads, and custom test racks – Knowledge of power circuit design fundamentals – Strong communication and presentation abilities – Eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct spacecraft Electrical Power Subsystem design and analysis at the spacecraft level, ensuring integration with other subsystems – Create system, subsystem, and component-level requirements that stem from higher-level requirements – Develop spacecraft-level power models to forecast power loading and performance margins, aiding system design – Assist in the design of batteries, solar arrays, and electronic components – Present design and analysis findings to program managers, clients, and sponsors – Facilitate system-level functional and environmental testing – Provide on-orbit support during mission operations and address any anomalies – Contribute to proposal and business development initiatives – Collaborate with consultants as needed – Oversee cost management and scheduling for satellite EPS tasks – Mentor junior engineers in their professional development
