Software Product Owner – Certification Tools
Requirements
Must have:
– Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution – Level 3: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience – Level 4: Minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience – Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) – Practical experience with API-driven systems, API design/management, or platform/integration products – Direct experience with the FAA and/or ODA on Type Certification projects – At least 3 years of experience in developing or contributing to processes, policies, and procedures – Proficient in systems thinking with the ability to create engineering proposals based on data analysis – Proven experience in resolving complex technical or regulatory challenges – Strong prioritization skills in ambiguous situations – Capability to set product roadmaps and align technical work with business outcomes and KPIs – Experience translating technical constraints and trade-offs into clear product decisions – Proficient with product and engineering tools such as JIRA/Confluence, API documentation tools, and monitoring tools
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges – Coordinate technical communications and engage with the FAA on regulatory matters – Formulate strategic action plans and see them through to completion – Own and manage process documentation (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.) and develop technical knowledge to facilitate execution – Ensure appropriate technical coordination across various products, platforms, and functional areas to foster a culture of compliance with requirements – Drive effective changes and efficient solutions within the Certification value stream – Design, develop, analyze, and maintain software systems that meet industry standards for quality, safety, security, and certification – Collaborate with stakeholders to define systems and translate system-level requirements into software requirements and models – Conduct software system-level analyses to identify risks and integrate mitigation strategies throughout the software lifecycle – Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for software systems – Create user documentation and training materials to guide end users on software functionalities – Assess product and process alignment with project plans and industry standards through performance evaluation – Implement current and emerging technologies and regulatory changes relevant to software development – Manage software project tasks and supplier relationships effectively
