Must have:

– Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline – Familiarity with real-time satellite command and control operations – Basic understanding of satellite subsystems, ground systems, and space missions – Experience in producing operational products for client environments – Availability to work outside of standard hours during critical mission operations – Active TS/SCI Clearance (preferred) – Masters degree in a related field (preferred) – Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams, particularly in resolving issues – Strong knowledge of satellite systems engineering, encompassing all subsystems – Background in spacecraft command and control software – Practical experience with agile methodologies – Knowledge of orbital dynamics and related planning techniques – Experience in designing fault detection and autonomous operations – Proficiency with software and scripting languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Java) – Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all phases of the mission lifecycle, from proposal and design to launch and on-orbit activities – Establish operational requirements and relay mission specifics back to the spacecraft – Develop the ground segment framework, including command and control, mission planning, and data processing systems – Conduct space vehicle fault detection, response planning, and implement autonomous operations – Create and refine operational automation techniques to lessen day-to-day tasks – Execute simulator tests to affirm the design of mission, fault, and autonomy strategies – Perform factory flight vehicle tests to confirm compatibility with mission design – Lead comprehensive ground segment testing, including RF compatibility and facility acceptance evaluations – Formulate and validate the mission sequence for bus commissioning and payload assessments – Organize and conduct mission rehearsal activities for team training and design validation – Guide a team of engineers through launch and early operational phases of space vehicle commissioning – Act as the primary technical authority during mission operations for both space and ground components – Ensure effective oversight of routine operations for all on-orbit spacecraft
