Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant, Per Diem in the Cancer Prevention and Outcomes Data Support Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.The purpose of the Research Assistant Per Diem position is to support research that focuses on understanding and promoting health-related behaviors among individuals with cancer and those at risk for cancer, under the direction of the Program Manager of the Shared Resource and the Qualitative Research Scientific Director.Among the key duties for this position are the following:As directed, creates a user-friendly system for study tracking and data entry using already-developed systems.Provides support in data processing, storage, organizing, and preparing data for qualitative analyses.Participates in phone, electronic, and in-person communication and meetings with study staff.Supports the preparation and dissemination of research findings through scientific posters, presentations, manuscripts, and community events.Assists with literature searches and syntheses, and manages references for research proposals and manuscripts.Assists with preparation of IRB documents and administrative and compliance reports.Minimum Education and Experience:Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or another health, social or behavioral science or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science plus one year of related research experience required. Proficiency with qualitative research software such as Atlas.ti required. Additional experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.Physical Demands and Work Environment:PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Moderate noise.Salary: $27.38 per hour, or commensurate with experience
