Writer and Editor
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Writer and Editor to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality written content across various formats, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and engagement. This role requires a strong command of language, excellent editing skills, and the ability to adapt writing styles to different audiences and purposes. We specialize in editorial and ghostwriting services for christian pastors, ministry leaders, and theological academics. Ideal candidates should be comfortable engaging Scripture, theological sources, and ministry language with clarity, care, and theological accuracy. The Writer and Editor will play a vital role in writing and editing academic papers, books, and curriculum, and other written materials for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce compelling written content for multiple platforms, including articles, reports, proposals, and marketing materials.
- Proofread and copy edit all materials to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistency with style guides (Turabian, APA, etc.), and adherence to project requirements.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking and research to verify information accuracy and enhance content credibility.
- Edit drafts for clarity, tone, structure, and overall quality while maintaining the original voice and intent.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and team members to gather information and refine messaging.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas through written language.
- Utilize word processing tools efficiently for drafting, editing, and formatting documents.
- Maintain consistency in style, tone, and voice across all content types while adhering to style guides such as AP Style or Chicago Manual of Style.
- Support creative writing efforts for marketing campaigns or branding initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- We specialize in editorial and ghostwriting services for christian pastors, ministry leaders, and theological academics. Ideal candidates should be comfortable engaging Scripture, theological sources, and ministry language with clarity, care, and theological accuracy.
- Proven experience in editing, proofreading, or technical writing with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across different content types.
- Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences.
- Excellent editing skills including copy editing, fact checking, and adherence to style guides like Turabian and APA.
- Familiarity with word processing software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 — 15.0 per week
