Lead Real-Time Software Architect
Requirements
Must have:
– Over 10 years of experience in embedded, real-time, or avionics systems – Practical experience with RTOS, separation kernels, or hypervisors (e.g., seL4, ARINC 653, PikeOS) – Understanding of mixed criticality design, determinism, and resource/timing budgeting – Familiarity with hardware/software co-design (drivers, interrupts, DMA, memory/cache strategies) – Knowledge of safety and/or security certification processes (DO 178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar) – Ability to specify architecture, make trade-offs, and document architectural choices – Experience in building CI/CD, HIL, and integration test practices for embedded systems – Strong leadership and mentoring skills, comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams – Excellent communication skills for customer interactions, design reviews, and vendor communications
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture for real-time and mixed criticality systems – Define system decomposition, interfaces, and resource/timing objectives – Ensure safety, security, and domain isolation – Select and integrate operating systems, virtualization, and middleware technologies – Supervise hardware/software co-design and performance optimization – Establish verification and validation (V&V) and certification strategies – Develop continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and integration testing methodologies – Mentor team members and act as a technical authority for clients and vendors
