Lead Systems Integration and Test Engineer
Requirements
Must have:
– Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry – 14 or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience – Experience in avionics or mission systems discipline – Understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) – Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and implementation of the integration and test strategy for mission systems, ensuring it meets program goals and certification standards. – Develop and maintain system-level test plans, procedures, acceptance criteria, and verification models to ensure complete traceability of requirements. – Oversee integration activities across avionics and software for achieving efficient integration results. – Manage test efforts, including resource planning, scheduling, logistics, and creating contingency plans. – Establish and coordinate the necessary test infrastructure such as test rigs, data acquisition systems, and automated testing frameworks. – Guide test execution, data gathering, instrumentation, and performance verification against requirements while documenting any discrepancies. – Maintain rigorous configuration control and manage changes to test procedures and data, collaborating closely with Configuration Management and Systems Engineering teams. – Work with suppliers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams to resolve integration challenges, align timelines, and uphold testing requirements. – Support safety and certification initiatives by generating verification evidence and contributing to safety assessments. – Champion continuous improvement of testing processes, automation, and tools to enhance efficiency, consistency, and data quality. – Provide technical guidance and mentorship to integration and test engineers, fostering capability growth through training and knowledge sharing. – Communicate testing status, outcomes, discrepancies, and recommendations to program management and stakeholders through clear reports and presentations. – Identify, evaluate, mitigate, and report risks associated with integration and testing to program leadership. – Optimize costs and scheduling for test activities, seeking opportunities to minimize rework and speed up verification timelines.
