Senior Design Engineer – Electronic Systems – Berkeley

Requirements

Must have:

– Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications related to the work – 9 years of experience in avionics testing and integration – 3 years of experience in designing test stations or test systems – 3 years of experience in developing Flight Controls or Flight Control Systems, including Flight Control Computers, Vehicle Management System Computers, Actuators, Air Data Probes, and Navigation Systems – Proficient in preparing test plans, writing test procedures, and conducting tests to collect artifacts

Responsibilities:

• Lead significant design initiatives for hardware/software products – Guide junior engineers on design methodologies and oversee the quality of their outputs – Create architectures for testing systems – Choose components for hardware designs and assist with procurement and manufacturing processes – Integrate hardware and/or software systems within a testing environment – Operate complex testing stations, electronic testing equipment, and testing software – Validate and ensure that system designs fulfill operational and functional specifications – Address issues related to fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle – Collaborate with programs/customers to develop requirements, establish statements of work, and provide status updates and performance insights – Generate estimates for new projects by collecting data from BT&E partners and reviewing team records – Develop comprehensive schedules and drive team performance to adhere to timelines
