Requirements

Must have:

– Bachelors degree in electrical engineering – 3-5 years of experience with digital communication system design, analysis, subsystem component selection, and system evaluation – Proficient in estimating resource needs for both FPGA and general-purpose processors for implementing a digital signal processing chain in a digital communication subsystem – Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog – Skilled in programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or MATLAB – Strong orientation towards achieving results through collaboration in a dynamic aerospace environment – Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Ability to secure a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship, with a Top Secret Clearance needed post-start

Responsibilities:

  • Lead mission trade studies concerning on-board signal processing for RF and various payloads – Define and specify digital signal processing requirements – Develop and validate multi-rate, fixed-point, and floating-point signal processing algorithms – Conduct make/buy evaluations on signal processing technologies – Create performance and/or link budgets – Collaborate with team members across disciplines to design, build, test, and deliver spacecraft communication products for various programs – Develop Millenniums communications and payload technologies from concept through to flight readiness – Generate documents for subsystem manufacturing, integration, and verification – Direct the manufacturing, integration, and verification of subsystems – Operate payload systems in orbit – Perform additional duties as required
