Mid-level optical systems engineer – Millennium Space
Requirements
Must have:
– Bachelors Degree in engineering, physical sciences, or computer science – Over 7 years of professional experience in optical engineering – Experience in space-to-space and/or space-to-ground laser communication – Proficient in performance, phenomenology, and modeling of space-based EO sensors – Ability to train and mentor team members – Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate requirements at mission and unit levels for OCTs, EO sensors, and space vehicle interfaces – Design and implement models and simulations of optical systems – Conduct unit and system-level tests both on-ground and in-orbit to confirm performance – Oversee supplier and partner performance effectively – Manage intricate projects by coordinating work statements, establishing and tracking budgets/schedules, and evaluating technical performance – Support large-scale new business proposals
