Title: Software Development Manager – Exchange Platform

Duration : Direct-hire

Location : Louisville, CO (Hybrid)

Salary range: $122,000 – $163,800 base + bonus

Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Software Development Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and enhancing a highly available, cloud-based platform. This role combines people leadership with deep technical contribution and requires an individual who can actively design, develop, and deliver production-quality software while guiding team execution and growth. The ideal candidate is outcome-driven, thrives in Agile environments, and values modern engineering practices, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Lead by example through hands-on system design, development, and delivery of high-quality software using Angular and Java in an AWS environment

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to drive the full software development lifecycle and deliver impactful solutions

Own technical direction, roadmap planning, and delivery execution aligned with enterprise architecture standards

Ensure engineering excellence through practices that promote scalability, resiliency, security, and high availability

Plan and execute coordinated release processes with clear communication to all stakeholders

Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, feedback, and consistent code reviews

Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement using data-driven insights and iterative development

Track and improve delivery performance using metrics such as cycle time, lead time, and deployment frequency

Lead incident response efforts, including on-call support and hands-on resolution of production issues

Identify technical risks, manage dependencies, and hold teams accountable to high engineering standards

Skills

3+ years of experience managing or leading software development teams

Strong hands-on engineering background with Java and modern frontend frameworks (Angular preferred)

Experience building cloud-native systems using AWS services such as RDS, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, and related technologies

Hands-on experience with containerization, orchestration, and modern CI/CD pipelines

Proven ability to mentor engineers while remaining an active technical contributor

Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and the ability to advocate for best practices

Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

Experience with distributed systems, observability tools, and reliability-focused design

Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining focus on customer outcomes
