About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a cloud data warehouse modernisation initiative, migrating from a SQL Server/AWS-based system to a Snowflake-based data platform. The role involves designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring operational reliability across Snowflake, Informatica, and Apache Airflow environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake, Informatica (IICS), and Airflow DAG deployments
- Automate code promotion between development, test, and production environments
- Integrate testing, linting, and security scanning into deployment processes
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools
- Manage configuration consistency across multi-region/multi-cloud setups
- Maintain secure connectivity between cloud and on-prem systems
- Implement logging, alerting, and proactive monitoring for workflows and performance
- Optimise pipeline performance, concurrency, and cost governance in Snowflake
- Support RBAC alignment and user access provisioning
- Troubleshoot orchestration issues and lead incident response
- Enforce DevSecOps practices including encryption and secrets management
- Implement audit, compliance, and backup strategies
- Participate in testing, deployment, and release management for new workflows
Required Qualifications:
- 3-7 years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Platform Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and Informatica (IICS preferred)
- Strong CI/CD skills (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Proficiency with Terraform, Python, and Shell scripting
- Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes for Airflow
- Strong networking and security knowledge
Preferred Skills:
- Experience migrating from SQL Server or legacy DW platforms
- Knowledge of FinOps practices for Snowflake
- Background in healthcare, finance, or regulated industries
Soft Skills:
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field
