Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Bellevue WA (Remote)
Pay rate: $45.00 – $60.00/hr
Project Summary
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer who will develop automation scripts for Autodesk Revit applications. The job functions entail:
Create Python/C# scripts that seamlessly merge with Autodesk Revit’s backend to automate Revit functions
Utilize Python Script node in Dynamo to configure, manage, and perform CRUD operations to create data-driven automation workflows
Modify existing Python scripts to extract data from Revit to connect API’s with cost and bill of materials databases
Create logical process maps to convert manual Revit and data input steps into automatic processes through API’s
Build test scenario scripts to quality control and acceptance test Autodesk’s automation workflows
Role Responsibilities:
Problem Definition & Logic Mapping
Map workflows and system logic
Define architecture before coding begins
This phase is critical and experience-heavy
Pipeline & API Development
Build APIs that integrate with internal systems
Support automation within Revit
Develop backend services and integrations
Testing & Validation
Write test code
Ensure outputs match intended logic and workflows
Systems Context
Some automation already exists.
Architecture is still evolving.
Need someone who can:
Help define system architecture
Guide API design decisions before implementation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or similar engineering degree (mechanical and civil)
5 years of experience in software development using Python/C#
3 years of experience with Autodesk Revit API development and customization
3 years of experience developing commercial software applications
Demonstrated experience with object-oriented programming and software design patterns
Experience Requirements
Minimum: 3 years of software development experience
Open to candidates with:
Python and/or C#
Years of experience are especially important for architecture and logic mapping, not just coding.
