Senior Director, Child and Adolescent
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Clinical Programming tolead our under 18 clinical programs at our Northbrook facility. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer and working in close partnership with the rest of the Northbrook Leadership Team, this leader will play a key role in furthering our strong culture of clinical excellence. You’ll provide hands-on coaching, mentorship, and strategic direction to a dedicated team of clinicians, while helping shape programs that support patients across a variety of diagnoses including Mood/Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, and Substance Use.
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility and consists not only of our widest variety of programs but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for under 18 PHP and IOP clinical services at the Northbrook site
- Manage clinical and education staff, including clinical leaders, and primary therapists and family therapists as needed
- Deliver clinical supervision and coaching to support team development and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with leadership to assess staffing needs, participate in recruitment, and ensure effective onboarding
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and guide staff professional growth
- Manage day to day program scheduling to ensure leadership presence and support day and after school programming
- Manage scheduling of staff time-off to maintain service continuity and access to care
- Respond to clinical crises and coordinate intervention strategies
- Ensure consistent implementation of program curricula and therapeutic frameworks
- Represent Compass Health Center in community outreach and engagement initiatives
- Foster interdisciplinary communication through rounds, documentation, and face-to-face collaboration
- Contribute to ongoing professional development efforts for the clinical team
- Deliver direct clinical care as needed in accordance with established protocols
- Lead process improvement efforts to enhance the quality and efficiency of care delivery
- Provide on-call coverage for admissions team approximately 2 weeks per year until 9pm based on rotation.
- Partner with senior leadership team on the implementation and execution of organizational/system wide initiatives at the site (e.g. treatment adherence, optimal dose, etc.). Participate in weekly Senior Leadership meeting
- Other duties as necessary
Who You Are:
- Licensed Doctorate-level Psychologist, Master’s-level Clinician with clinical license, or postgraduate degree in a healthcare-related field
- 4 years prior people management experience highly preferred
- Proven experience in program development and clinical team leadership
- Strong ability to analyze and apply clinical operations data to drive performance improvements
- Skilled in supervising both licensed clinicians and those pursuing licensure
- Internal applicants must have experience successfully implementing organizational initiatives including Optimal Outcomes and Access to Care
- Proficiency in evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, CPT, and Motivational Interviewing
- Experience working with patients in crisis in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Prior leadership experience in intermediate levels of behavioral health care (PHP/IOP or higher)
