$29/hr – Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator

In this role, you’ll operate development vehicles on public and private roads to collect critical data, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time feedback to engineering teams. You’ll play a direct role in advancing groundbreaking autonomous vehicle (AV) technologies while ensuring the highest safety standards on the road.

What You’ll Do (Daily Expectations)

• Safely operate development vehicles up to 8 hours per day on a mix of routes.

• Execute structured test plans and collect data using proprietary software/hardware systems.

• Identify, log, and escalate system or vehicle issues to engineering teams.

• Maintain detailed operational records and documentation.

• Communicate clearly with engineers, managers, and the public as an ambassador for AV technology.

• Mentor and support fellow operators to ensure team consistency and safety.

Requirements for Success

• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 7 years of driving experience and a clean DMV record.

• Comfortable driving in all conditions (day/night, varied weather, high-traffic areas).

• 1–2 years of professional driving or testing experience (rideshare, delivery, AV/ADAS preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent professional/technical experience in relevant fields.

• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn Linux and troubleshoot software/hardware tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening (pre-employment and random).
