Our client is transforming the way businesses manage and benefit from their energy use. Traditional energy providers offer limited insight and control. In this role you will be building something different — a smarter approach powered by advanced software to track real-time energy data, you will help customers get more value from their distributed energy resources (DERs) such as batteries, EVs, HVAC systems, and more. The mission is to accelerate the shift to a cleaner, more reliable energy grid—operating on renewable energy.
The Role
We’re looking for a driven and experienced Account Executive to join our fast-growing sales team. This is a high-impact role focused on helping businesses gain control over their energy usage and optimize savings. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in energy sales or energy management, has excellent communication skills, and thrives in a consultative selling environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Identify and qualify potential customers that match our ideal customer profile.
- Craft personalized outreach messages to effectively engage prospects.
- Use tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and industry-specific databases to develop and maintain a strong pipeline.
Sales Process Management
- Conduct discovery calls to uncover a prospect’s energy goals and pain points.
- Ask thoughtful, tailored questions that reflect a deep interest in the customer’s business and operations.
- Establish clear next steps after each sales interaction to keep deals moving forward.
- Create mutual action plans with prospects, defining ownership, timelines, and key milestones to guide the sales process.
- Develop and present tailored energy solutions that clearly address customer needs and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through contract negotiation and closing.
Relationship Building
- Build long-term relationships by being a trusted advisor and delivering consistent value.
- Guide customers through the complex energy landscape with a consultative approach.
- Provide continuous support and strategic input to ensure customer success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align on strategy and deliver a seamless client experience.
- Share insights with internal teams on customer needs, competitive trends, and market opportunities.
Performance & Reporting
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in CRM systems.
- Consistently report on pipeline development, forecasting, and deal progress.
Qualifications
- 5 years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, ideally in energy, sustainability, or energy tech.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Knowledge of energy management systems, demand response, or retail energy markets is a strong plus.
- Experience with franchise or multi-site commercial operations is a bonus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively within a dynamic and mission-driven team.
Compensation & Benefits
- OTE: $175,000 – $250,000, plus equity and uncapped commission potential
