Curriculum Specialist, Literacy Team
About the Opportunity:
The organization seeks a Curriculum Specialist focused on reading instruction and curriculum design for K-5 education with experience in educational technology. The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in instructional content for a K-5 reading program and work collaboratively with a team of content designers.
Responsibilities:
• Support strategic objectives for literacy content development aligned with established parameters
• Maintain documentation and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure efficient workflows
• Write new and enhanced instructional content with attention to equity and accessibility
• Create and maintain documentation related to activity design and development
• Use approved AI-enabled tools for efficient content drafting
• Assist in content production, including content entry, audio production, and content review
• Develop curriculum-related resources and responses for customer-facing teams
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors on assigned projects
• Participate in product research by reviewing student data, educator feedback, and user-study results
• Conduct literature reviews and consolidate information from industry leaders for curriculum improvements
• Stay informed about literacy research and trends through professional development and apply knowledge to content design
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Education or related field
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience, including at least 1 year writing instructional content for education-technology curricula
• Experience providing literacy instruction in a K-5 school setting
• Knowledge of technology-enabled content production tools; experience with content management systems preferred
• Understanding of the science of reading, language development for multilingual learners, culturally responsive teaching, and elementary education
• Proficiency with digital tools for workflow coordination and documentation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proven record of quality work and strong references
