Requirements & Expectations
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Research Scientist with strong expertise in security fundamentals, vulnerability analysis, risk evaluation, and large-scale system behaviors. This role is focused on advancing cybersecurity research, with a secondary emphasis on applying LLM/GenAI methods to support analysis, reasoning, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth cybersecurity research on emerging threats, risks, and complex system behaviors.
- Analyze and interpret large, unstructured, and heterogeneous security data sources.
- Develop methods for risk modeling, prioritization, and impact assessment.
- Apply AI/LLM techniques selectively to augment cybersecurity workflows, enabling richer insights and automation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to bring research insights into practical tools and solutions.
- Track and interpret cutting-edge developments in both cybersecurity and AI research, ensuring our approaches remain state-of-the-art.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD/Master’s) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong expertise in security research: threat/vulnerability analysis, incident investigation, or risk assessment.
- Deep understanding of security frameworks, attack models, and defense mechanisms.
- Ability to design and execute research experiments that translate into practical insights or prototypes.
- Solid programming skills (Python preferred) and familiarity with handling large-scale security data.
- Exposure to LLMs, NLP, or GenAI as applied to data analysis and automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Publications or contributions in cybersecurity research.
- Experience with enterprise-scale systems, cloud security, or security analytics.
- Familiarity with embeddings, retrieval, or vector databases as applied to security contexts.
- Strong communication skills to clearly present research findings and recommendations.
