Electrical Engineer-Construction design

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative K–12, commercial, and municipal building projects across Virginia. They will lead full-cycle electrical design projects—from concept and load calculations to construction and commissioning—while collaborating closely with cross-functional design teams.

• Type: Fulltime (Hybrid — 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of electrical design, including load calculations, layouts, and equipment selection.
• Develop and review comprehensive design documents, specifications, and construction packages.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant codes, project schedules, and budget requirements.
• Attend client meetings to define project scope, present updates, and resolve technical issues.
• Provide construction-phase support by managing RFIs, submittals, and conducting necessary site visits.
• Support commissioning and quality assurance processes for final project delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• 8 years of experience in electrical building systems design (specifically K–12, commercial, or municipal projects).
• EIT license (Virginia) is required; PE license is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• LEED Accreditation is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven technical problem-solving abilities.
